Common Curriculum isn’t just a tool to organize lesson plans, it is a tool to organize your entire day! Use these tips and tricks to make 2017 your most organized year yet!

Five ways to organize your day in Cc:

  1. Create a weekly to do list:

As a teacher you have many to-do items. Instead of using a sticky note you can lose, create a to-do list in Cc. You can create a weekly to do list by going to ‘Setup’ and adding a card to your Monday. Title the card, add some bullet points, and you are ready to go!

You can use the strikethrough text features to mark items complete!

2. Add a reflection section to your lesson plans:

Reflection is important to improve your teaching practice. Add a reflection section to your template to help remind yourself to reflect on each day. To do this, go to ‘Setup’ and then click on the blue ‘Lesson Templates’ button. From here, select your template, add a card, and title it ‘Reflection’.

This card will show up on any un-edited lessons!

3. Attach student work for reference:

When re-using lessons you often want to refer back to exemplar student work. Sometimes you are even required to include student work for your evaluation. Use Cc to organize that work and attach it to lesson plans. To do this, simply take a photo or scan in student work to your computer. Add a card to your lesson, name it ‘Student Work’ and attach the files.

If you want to include student work on every lesson plan, add a section to your template!

4. Organize everything you need to print in one spot:

Trips to the copy machine can take time. There is nothing worse than spending an hour after school making copies and then realizing you forgot a worksheet. Use Cc to collect all the printouts in one place. Similar to adding a reflection section to your template. Add a ‘To Print’ section.

Finally, add all your files to the ‘To Print’ card, so that you never miss and worksheet again!

5. Add note sections for planning periods:

Need to remember specific meetings or things to do during your planning period? It is easy to add a card for your planning periods throughout the week. Add as many cards to your week as you need and simply drag them to the correct place in your schedule.

These cards will automatically show up each week so you can take note of important events!
